I have a variety of hobbies....Ham Radio, Light houses, creating, playing and collecting Native American flutes, black powder shooting, target shooting, camping, etc.
I have always been fascinated with lighthouses. Being land-locked in central
Illinois, it is a strange hobby to some. However, the state of Michigan has
more lighthouses than any other state and isn't too far away. Wisconsin is also
close and has a number of neat lighthouses.
The lighthouse pictured is the Portland Head light near Portland Maine. It is
one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world. I took this picture
while there on vacation.

Ham Radio has been around for many years. I earned my license in 1956 while I was still in High School, and have been active ever since. Ham Radio is a great hobby. There are enough different aspects to it that you can find something of interest. Chatting with other "hams" all over the world, building equipment, using your computer on the air, building antennas and other equipment...the list goes on and on.

Creating, playing and collecting Native American flutes is one of my newest hobbies. I love the way they sound, and the way they relax the player as well as the listener. Playing them is easy, as it isn't necessary to read music or study for years. You can be playing within a few minutes of picking one up for the first time. Learning to cover the holes is the hardest part of learning to play. Collecting them can become a bit addictive...I own over sixty flutes, including some that I have made personally.
